Prehnite was named after its discoverer Colonel Hendrik von Prehn (1733-1785) , an early Dutch governor of the Cape of Good Hope colony. Prehnite was the first mineral to be named after a person. It is found in m any locations, including the U.S.A., China, Canada, Australia, Scotland, and France. |
