| Morganite (Beryl): Is transparent to translucent pink, light reddish Orange to light purplish red. It is named after the financier J. Pierpont Morgan in 1911 by George Frederick Kunz, who compiled Morgan's collections while working at Tiffany. He was an avid collector of gemstones and the collections were donated to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. It is found in Brazil, Madagascar, Zambia, Nigeria, Russia, China and the USA. |
