Amethyst (Quartz) : Transparent bluish purple to reddish purple. Amethyst is supposed to warden of drunkenness as it comes from the Greek work "amethystos" meaning "not intoxicated", in fact it is said to protect the wearer from being seduced. As well as to protect crops against tempests and locusts, bring good fortune in war and in the hunt, drive out evil spirits and inspire the intellect . It is the birthstone for February and Pisces as well as the 6th Wedding Anniversary. It is found in Brazil, Uruguay, Namibia as well as Iran, Japan, Madagascar, Mexico, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Russia and the USA.
