| Sea of Cortez Mabe Pearl : The mabe pearl, or blister pearl, is formed on the inside surface of the shell. This contributes to the high lustre and the rainbow colors that appear on these mabe pearls. The blister is cut from the the shell and then backed with a flat piece of mother of pearl usually. The shapes can vary from almost round to pear-shape or even triangular. If the mabe is cultured it can be almost any shape that the nucleus is. For more information www.perlas.com.mx |
